Study consistency is derived from meaningful profile-specific activity. Opening MBES alone must not extend the streak, and the same activity should not count twice.
The system tracks current and longest streaks, qualifying dates, consistency history, and rest-day-aware behavior. Streak totals remain derived rather than manually editable.
Plan-, goal-, schedule-, exam-, and custom reminders can be one-time or recurring, with snooze, dismiss, complete, pause, resume, archive, delete, and occurrence history.
Optional browser notifications are permission-based and the product explicitly avoids promising reliable closed-app/background delivery when that is not technically guaranteed. Quiet hours are supported.

Cloud work is built around Row Level Security, private storage, client-side encryption, explicit backup/restore decisions, conflict-safe synchronization, and no plaintext cloud dataset. Deeper commercial cloud convenience is still separated from the core local study experience.
The current Classic interface preserves theme, typography, font-size, colorblind-filter, and responsive behavior as separate preferences from study data.

I originally built MBES because I wanted one place for my board-exam questions, formulas, reviewers, progress, and study planning. What started as a simple exam simulator kept growing because every time I needed another study tool, I kept asking myself: why should this have to be another app?
So I started connecting the pieces instead—practice sessions, study materials, technical formulas, planning, goals, streaks, reminders, motivation, and eventually accounts and cloud features. MBES grew from an actual problem I had as a student: my review workflow was scattered.
The goal is not to replace every great study app at what it does best. The goal is to give board-exam students one place where the whole review process can work together.
